Charlotte Henningsen Awarded Senior Membership in the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine

Orlando, FL (10/21/2009) – Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences is pleased to announce that Charlotte Henningsen, MS, RT, RDMS, RVT, FSDMS, Chair of the Department of Diagnostic Medical Sonography, has been recognized as a Senior Member of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM).

“I am pleased to achieve this status with this esteemed organization,” stated Henningsen. “The AIUM is dedicated to the advancement of the field of diagnostic medical sonography, and I am proud to support their mission.”

The AIUM provides important professional guidance in the field of Diagnostic Medical Sonography, and has served as a continuing education and networking resource for diagnostic medical sonographers for more than 50 years. Senior membership status is granted to those professional sonographers who, among other qualifications, have demonstrated substantial accomplishment in the field of scientific investigation or teaching; possess advanced degrees and certifications in diagnostic medical sonography, and are recommended by at least two senior members of the Institute.

Professor Henningsen is the President of the Society for Diagnostic Medical Sonography and is active in the advancement of the field and served as the Chair of the National Education Curriculum Task Force; is a site visitor for the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRC-DMS), and is a member of the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Exam Development Task Force as a subject matter expert in neurosonology.
