Transfer Credits
Make your previous college courses work for you
Credits earned at another institution will be transferred and applied toward degree requirements under the following policies:
- To be considered for transfer, all credit must appear on an official transcript.
- The credit-granting institution must be regionally accredited.
- Foreign transcripts must be accompanied by official copies of translations and course-by-course evaluations done by World Education Services (WES). Applications are available at WES.
- Only general education courses that are required in the curriculum of the student’s professional program will be transferred.
- Only courses with a minimum grade of “C” (2.00) or higher will be accepted for credit.
- Transfer credit will be recorded on the transcript during the first trimester in which the student enrolls as a degree-seeking student.
- The total number of credits transferred may not exceed those allowed by the residency policy. The residency policy states that a student must complete 36 trimester credits at FHCHS to earn a Bachelor of Science degree.
- Students who wish to transfer courses from a professional program must petition the respective department for evaluation of credit.
- Courses that are not clearly defined on a transcript may not be automatically transferred. The student will be asked to submit course descriptions and syllabi for further evaluation.
